PROCESS:
A series of small acrylic paintings explored my feelings, dreams and imagination. They developed out of the x- posing works beginning with a small black and white image that had a depth of field referencing the internal spaces of mind (from earlier works). From this I developed a diptych developing the spacial experience.
I worked on a series of small works, exploring my feelings, dreams and imagination. Complete of themselves they were juxtapositioned in a video and projected onto the diptych.
CONTEXT:
The work developed on from a series of X posing videos, opening questions regarding the mind processes, co-joining the external with internal. In Sensing the painting the viewer catches glimpses of the painting as it becomes increasingly embedded into mind's eye. In Painting the senses the multi imaged interference, of the digitized small paintings, echoes the quantum sensation of mind with the feelings, dreams and imagination. The paintings are physical objects quantified and transposed into digital images, changing their shape, position and spacial elements. The work offers the experience of a relationship between viewer, bodily internal parts with external objects subsumed into the work; world, mind and body.
