London Conference, Unconditional Love

The images are Big Ben (of course), I recall the first time I saw this city having lived a narrow life, albeit a happy one: the grounds of Chelsea School of Art; a view of the conference on day one.

There was a two day conference with JAR (Journal for Artistic Research) followed by a morning Annual General Assembly of SAR (Society for Artistic Research).

The first day was a session with the title Care and Attend, it was a three hour event with words spoken and art practiced around the venue.

While the actions demonstrated care and attention (to detail) and the words were worth hearing, it was a very long time....


The General Meeting was very enlightening. The UK is not really engaged with this enterprise, which is surprising to me.

There seems to be a tension between definitions of art research, and what it is and is not. Never the less, one university has recently accepted a PhD presented on the Research Catalogue format.
